This page contains items that aren't eligible for the main Searching For A Gem or International Stereo Releases lists because Bob does not personally perform on them, but are nevertheless of interest to Dylan collectors. There's no specific qualification for inclusion other than I have the item or it's been notified to me by a contributor as being worthy of inclusion. This is not intended to be a comprehensive section on Dylan Covers. The late Dave Plentus' excellent Dylan Cover Albums site is now kept alive on Expecting Rain by Karl-Erik Anderson here and these pages are not intended to match or replace it. This page includes notable cover albums by Various Artists contributed by Dylan collectors. The other Honourable Mentions pages are listed below.

Start Records STDL 20 (UK) - LP front of gatefold sleeve, scan by Gerd Rundel

This 1989 2LP/two cassette set of 32 tracks was remarkable in having covers of a Dylan rarity Rita May by Jerry Lee Lewis and four otherwise unreleased songs by Bob. The four unreleased songs are: Dusty Old Fairgrounds by Blue Ash; Wanted Man by George Thorogood; Champaign, Illinois by Carl Perkins and Let's Keep It Between Us by Bonnie Raitt. These four songs are on the 2LP and two cassette releases only, not the single CD release, which was made in France by MPO and has only 20 of the tracks. Five further songs, Abandoned Love; Farewell Angelina; If You Gotta Go, Go Now; Seven Days and Need A Woman, were unreleased at the time, but released in 1991 on The Bootleg Series Vols. 1-3. Dusty Old Fairgrounds was included on the limited edition 6LP set 50th Anniversary Collection 1963 in 2013 but remains a rarity, Wanted Man was released in 2019 on The Bootleg Series Vol. 15 - Travelin' Thru 1967-1969.

This original London cast recording of the hit West End show from the Old Vic Theatre featuring Bob's music, written by Conor McPherson, was available on CD from "Isis" magazine at the end of September 2017. Unlike previous efforts to use Bob's work in musical theatre, this show is remarkably successful, and also very moving. The songs cover most of Bob's career from the show's title track from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in 1963 to Duquesne Whistle from Tempest in 2012.
