I Shall Be Unreleased (Rhino Records, 1991) - a compilation album of cover versions of then unreleased Dylan songs

This is an extracted list of unreleased Dylan songs performed live for an audience. I haven't included songs performed only at soundchecks. The performance at the New York Town Hall, 12 Apr 1963, intended for a live album, is the source for five of these still unreleased songs! Sadly, because of fear of bootlegging, Bob no longer tries out new songs in concert as he did when these were performed (the last is from 1984).

AIN’T GONNA GO TO HELL FOR ANYBODY - Performed live in 1980 April-May and then November-December 1980, live version from Le Theatre Saint-Denis, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 24 Apr 1980 released on the 2CD set The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 - Trouble No More 1979-1981 (Live), Oct 2017. ALL OVER YOU - performed live at the New York Town Hall, 12 Apr 1963. A demo version has now been released by Bob on "The Bootleg Series Vol. 9: The Witmark Demos 1962-1964", 2010, and this live version was released on the limited edition 6LP set "50th Anniversary Collection 1963", 2013

BLESSED IS THE NAME - performed in concert 43 times in late 1979 and in early 1980. A live version from Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, CA, 20 Nov 1979, was released on the 2CD set "The Bootleg Series Vol. 13 - Trouble No More 1979-1981 (Live)", Oct 2017 (CD2). DUSTY OLD FAIRGROUNDS - performed live at the New York Town Hall, 12 Apr 1963, and this live version was released on the limited edition 6LP set "50th Anniversary Collection 1963", 2013

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - Rehearsed at the Arena di Verona, Verona, Italy, 27 May 1984, and performed in public in June and July 1984. Rehearsal sometimes misdated as Beverly Theatre, Los Angeles, CA, 23-25 May 1984. The 2CD Standard Edition of "The Bootleg Series Vol. 16 - Springtime In New York 1980-1985", released in Sep 2021, contains a live version recorded at Slane Castle, Dublin, Ireland, 8 Jul 1984

HERO BLUES - out-take from "The Times They Are A-Changin'" performed live at New York Town Hall, 12 Apr 1963, but not performed again until Jan 1974, when Bob performed a version with revised lyrics twice with The Band. A live performance of this song (misidentified, but probably the live 12 Apr 1963 performance) was made available for download on the Apple Computer music store in Apr 2003, see

. The "Times" out-take with fake applause was included as a "live" track on a recently discovered acetate of a version of the eventually unreleased album "Bob Dylan In Concert", 2004. A demo version has now been released by Bob on "The Bootleg Series Vol. 9: The Witmark Demos 1962-1964", 2010, and the 1963 live version was released on the limited edition 6LP set "50th Anniversary Collection 1963", 2013.
