GATES OF HATE 1962 N?
Song about the case of John Henry Faulk , the American radio personality blacklisted during the McCarthy era. GATES OF HATE is mentioned in Gil Turner's profile "Bob Dylan - A New Voice Singing New Songs" in "Sing Out" as being written around May 1962. The chorus is reproduced in the article as:

"Go down, go down, you gates of hate,
You gates that keep good men in chains.
Go down and die the lowest death,
And never rise again."

There is no report of the song ever being performed or recorded. Phil Ochs also wrote a song called THE BALLAD OF JOHN HENRY FAULK in 1963. John Henry Faulk hosted the Westinghouse TV show "Folk Songs and More Folk Songs" on which Bob appeared in 1963, and from 1940-47 was also the husband of Harriet "Hally" Wood, the singer and musicologist credited with writing WORRIED BLUES, the 1962 out-take from "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" included on "The Bootleg Series Vols. 1-3" in 1991 and "The 50th Anniversary Collection" in 2012

Our Journey, 2010 album by the McCrary Sisters on their own McCrary Sisters label with GIVE HIM MY ALL

GIVE HIM MY ALL [GOT TO GIVE HIM MY ALL] [GOT TO GIVE HIM ALL MY LOVE] Bob Dylan/Regina McCrary, 1981 N?
Song co-written with Regina McCrary (then known as Regina Havis), recorded at Rundown Studios, Santa Monica, CA, 1981. Tim Dunn provides this information:

The new "On The Tracks" magazine (#23, Summer 2002) has an interview with Regina McCrary (conducted by the editors of "On The Tracks", pp.16-20) in which she says she has a tape of a song recorded "around 1981" in the studio with Dylan.

"The song is called 'GOT TO GIVE HIM MY ALL'. I wrote it -- actually Bob helped me write it... (We) were on the bus headed to another city... and I got stuck and I couldn't go any further with the song. I just couldn't, it was like the song needed something else and I didn't know where to take it. So I went up front on the bus and Bob was sitting there and I asked him would he listen to it, and he said 'Yeah!'" So I started singing the words... and then I said, 'But right here, I mean, I'm stuck, I don't know where to go with it!' So Bob took the pencil and pad and he wrote the bridge to the song, and it was awesome. As I was singing Spooner Oldham sat with an acoustic guitar and kind of played chords to match what I was singing and Bob Dylan came up with the chords to the bridge, how he thought it should go, and he put the lyrics to it.... Later Bob Dylan, Tim Drummond, Jim Keltner, Spooner Oldham, Smitty... went in the studio that Bob used to have in Santa Monica... and we did a rough demo of it."

In response to a question about McCrary making a gospel album and if the song will be on it she replied "Yes, definitely."

It was reported in 2007 that Bob and Regina McCrary would be recording a duet of this song for her solo album "I Made A Vow" but that has not appeared. Now officially released in a version by the McCrary Sisters including Regina on their album "Our Journey", released in the USA on their own McCrary Sisters label in Oct 2010. The song was copyrighted with BMI in 2010 by Bob Dylan and Regina Avonette McCrary, Gina Mac Publishing Co.

GREASY NELLIE 1967? N?
Reported by UK writer Nick Garrett as being mentioned in an interview with Robbie Robertson from an issue of the UK magazine "Rocker" from 1972 - Robertson names this as a "completely finished" but still unknown Basement Tapes song, recorded with The Band, Big Pink, West Saugerties, NY, Jul-Oct 1967. "Up in Woodstock we got concerned with just making music, songs. Some fabulous stuff came out of those sessions - Tears of Rage, Orange Juice Blues, Greasy Nellie, Bob just improvised that on the spot." The journalist questions Robertson about Greasy Nellie. Robertson seems ignorant of the entire contents of the Basement Tapes because he says, "Greasy Nellie isn't on there? That's new on me, must've got left behind in the studio..." In April 2001 it was claimed an acetate of this song was in existence, however it seems likely that it is actually a hoax - thanks to Moise Potie for information
