2CD sets: Sony Music SICP 31180~1 (Japan), 18 July 2018; Columbia/Legacy 19075865322 (USA), 27 Jul 2018; Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music 19075865322 (Europe), 27 Jul 2018; Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music 19075865322 (Australia), 27 Jul 2018. This set, containing live performances from the 2012-2015 50th Anniversary Collections 1962-65 and also The 1966 Live Recordings, all former rarities, was released to coincide with Bob's tour of Japan, along with a new vinyl release of Highway 61 Revisited. Originally listed in 2018, it has been moved here because it now appears on the bobdylan.com Albums Page. All the former rarities are now also listed on the Released Rarities page. Thanks to Dag Braathen for information that the photo on the reverse of the rear insert was taken outside New York Town Hall, 113 W. 43rd Street, which dates it as 12 Apr 1963. Thanks to Doug Collette and others for spotting that the list of musicians on the inside of the front insert booklet omits Richard Manuel from The Hawks for the 1966 concerts. |

The following track is available only on the Japanese Blu-spec CD2 release:
Like A Rolling Stone (8:05 including intro with the infamous “Judas!” shout) – recorded live at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester, 17 May 1966, released on The Bootleg Series Vol. 4 - Bob Dylan Live 1966: The "Royal Albert Hall" Concert, 1998, also released on The Bootleg Series Vol. 7 - No Direction Home: The Soundtrack, 2005, and the Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music Europe/Japan 36CD set The 1966 Live Recordings, Nov 2016, so not a rarity. Thanks to Fred Muller for reminding me about the 2005 release, where Richard Manuel is also not credited.
This must be because standard audio CD format cannot handle the 82:49 length of CD2 but the newer Japan-only format can.

Japanese purchasers will receive one of three posters: Poster 1 from Tower Records, Poster 2 from HMV, and Poster 3 from other retailers. Posters 1 and 2 are from The 1966 Live Recordings but Poster 3 appears to be a previously unreleased photo, a real rarity! Purchasers of one of the twelve other Dylan albums being promoted in July 2018 will receive one of 13 tin badges at random. The Japanese release is twice as thick as the other worldwide releases, and there is a wrap-around obi with withdrawal date "19-1-17 (17 Jan 2019)" and an insert for purchasers to send off to win a "Bob Dylan Fuji Rock" T-shirt designed by Jun Miura. The version of the album in Japan has 14 tracks on CD2 and there is a note on the obi to the left of the barcode that says "Note: DISC 2 runs for a very long time, therefore it might be unable to play depending on equipment.” CD2 is 82:49, longer than the limit of 80 minutes per CD that can be played on older CD players. This 14-track version is available in Japan only and costs ¥3,024 (¥2,800 plus sales tax). Reports of a 13-track Japanese version that costs ¥1,852 (¥1,700 plus sales tax) must related to imported CDs, because Sony Music Japan has only produced the version with a 14-track CD2 for commercial sale.

Thanks to Ward Whipple for noticing there is a mistake on the spines of the rear insert - "PERFORMANCES" is misspelled "PERFROMANCES" on both sides! This mistake is not on the Japanese release. I assume the US release above has the same mistake - the European release has it too.
