This is a new song, not the uncirculating out-take from Self Portrait of a traditional song of the same name recorded at Columbia Studios, New York, 4 Mar 1970. Tell Ol' Bill is included in The Bootleg Series Vol. 8 - Tell Tale Signs: Rare And Unreleased 1989-2006, released Oct 2008, but in an alternate take, so R-0649 is still a rarity!

The TV special Apollo At 70: A Hot Night In Harlem aired in the USA on 19 Jun 2004 of the 70th Anniversary concert held at the Apollo Theater, Harlem, New York, was to be released in the USA by Rhino Home Video on 12 Oct 2004 (it has not yet appeared). Bob performed the Sam Cooke song A Change Is Gonna Come.
