World Gone Wrong
This page is part of a list of original releases by release date of international commercially-released regular stereo Dylan albums. They do not contain rarities or obscurities and are not eligible for the Searching For A Gem list. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo releases of regular albums are now listed here and no longer in the former yearly Promo sections. For releases of this album in Columbia multi-packs, see International Album Releases (Regular) - Multi-Packs. |

Like the US release above, this stereo cassette release has a very long folded paper insert with all Bob's liner notes. The cassette itself is transparent smoked grey with white text, there are no paper labels.

"World Gone Wrong" - stereo vinyl LP, Columbia 474857 1 (NL for Europe), Dec 1993:
Lars M. Banke has a copy with a Japanese sticker on the front sleeve, which must have been imported into Japan, where there was no vinyl release. The sticker has English text "COLUMBIA| TRADE MARK LISENCED" ("LICENSED" is spelled incorrectly).
Thanks to Hans Seegers for notifying me of this white vinyl copy of the Dutch Columbia 474857 1 sold on eBay. Unfortunately this is not a genuine Columbia release. Thanks to Ingo Friedrich for information about blue and green vinyl fakes on eBay. Both Carl Torstenssen and Franck Faugere also seem to have unofficial copies, although the records are in black vinyl. The sleeves are fair imitations of Columbia sleeves, although on noticeably thinner card and less well printed. Carl's album has the barcode at bottom right of the rear sleeve instead of top right, has several words misspelled in the liner notes, and the record has matrix numbers: Side 1 - D 91-A, Side 2 - D-91-B. Franck's record does not have matrix numbers.
Thanks to Anthony Perry, Gerd Rundel and Lars M. Banke for information and scans.

The European release is made in Austria. The CD front insert is a 12 page booklet with song notes by Bob. Renaud Deperrieux has a copy where on page 11 of the booklet, below the picture of Bob holding a glass of whisky there is the following text: “Due to a printing error the running order of the songs printed on the compact disc is incorrect. Track 5 should be track 6 and vice versa”. The CD for this release has the incorrect track listing as described.

"World Gone Wrong" - remastered CD release, Columbia/Sony Music (no catalogue number) (Italy), 12 Mar 2011:
This release came with the 12-18 Mar 2011 issue of the Italian TV magazine "TV Sorissi E Cantone [TV Smiles and Songs]". The album was in a plastic bag with Bob Dylan and a book about Bob in Italian. The CD is the current release dating from 1993. This is part of a 40CD Dylan series called "La Grande Musica de Sorissi [The Great Music of Smiles]", for full details see International Album Releases (Multi-Packs) 2010s.
"The Complete Album Collection Vol. One" - 47CD boxed set, Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music 88691-92431-2 (USA), 5 Nov 2013/(Europe), 4 Nov 2013; USB stick, Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music 88883-77314-5 (USA), 5 Nov 2013/(Europe), 4 Nov 2013:
This massive set is the latest in a series of "Complete Columbia Album Collections" featuring artists such as Miles Davis, Charlie Mingus, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck and even Blue Oyster Cult. The CD version of the set includes 41 Dylan albums in card sleeves, 14 of which have been remastered for this project, plus a 2CD set of previously released non-album tracks entitled Side Tracks. The albums exclude all compilations and The Bootleg Series sets, but do include the deleted 1973 Dylan album, also see 1973, and the extra 2CD set Side Tracks includes one side of the 1971 single George Jackson (Acoustic version), R-0085, see 1971. The set is therefore listed in 2013. The set also includes a hard cover book with extensive new liner notes and previously unseen photos.
All the CDs come in card sleeves. The European sleeves are made of thicker card than the US sleeves, but they are otherwise identical, so are not shown. The catalogue number on the sleeve is "88691924312JK34" plus "DISC 38". This album has been remastered, so is the fourteenth and final Dylan album remastered for this project. The CDs are different in detail, the US World Gone Wrong CD has catalogue number "88691924312D38", whereas the European CD has catalogue number "88691924312-38". The European CD was made in the EU (probably Austria). The US and European copyright details are printed at the bottom of the Bob Dylan CDs, and round the circumference for The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan onwards, so I haven't shown them for these CDs.
For more details of the set, see International Album Releases (Multi-Packs) 2010s.
Thanks to Manuel García Jara for information and scans.
