This page is part of a list of original releases by release
date of international commercially-released regular stereo Dylan albums.
They do not contain rarities or obscurities and are not eligible for the
Searching For A Gem
list. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing
here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo
releases of regular albums are now listed here and no longer in the former
yearly Promo sections.
Because of the length
of this page, Bringing It All Back Home CD releases are
now here. For releases of this
album in CBS/Columbia multi-packs, see International
Album Releases (Regular) - Multi-Packs.

existing entries, please let me know!

Original US stereo LP, Columbia CS 9128, 22 Mar 1965.
The famous front photograph was taken by Daniel Kramer. The woman in red is
Sally Grossman, wife of Bob's then manager Albert. Rumours at the time were that
it was
Bob in drag! Sally sadly died on 12 Mar 2021, aged 81. The picture at the top of
this page of the red jumpsuit worn by Sally in the 1965 photo is from "Isis"
216, 2021.

This title is now one of the fifteen Dylan albums released in Sep
2003 as a hybrid CD/SA-CD. This is playable both in stereo on an ordinary CD
player and in enhanced stereo and 5.1 surround sound on an SA-CD player or a DVD
player that also plays SA-CDs (Sony's higher range models all do this).
Track listing:
Side 1:
Subterranean Homesick Blues; She Belongs To Me; Maggie's Farm; Love Minus
Zero/No Limit; Outlaw Blues; On The Road Again; Bob Dylan’s 115th Dream.
Side 2: Mr. Tambourine Man; Gates Of Eden; It’s All Right, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding);
It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue.
Out-takes from this album have been officially released as
follows:

The Bootleg Series Vol. 7 (2005): It's All Over Now, Baby Blue (alternate take); She

circulating amongst collectors. The early 1964 version of Mr. Tambourine Man
with Rambling Jack Elliott, sent to The Byrds so that they could cover the song,
was also included on this set, but it's actually an out-take from Another
Side Of Bob Dylan.

Columbia CS 9128 (USA) - detail of rear, scan by
      Gerd Rundel (first release)
There are at least four 1960s US stereo releases!
Early copies of the first
release have a purple sticker advertising Subterranean Homesick Blues on the front
sleeve. The purple sticker was also used on the stereo reel-to-reel tape
release, see below. The first release record has red Columbia labels with the
      "STEREO/360º SOUND" logos in black,
"NONBREAKABLE" below the catalogue number to the left of the centre hole, and
      the copy shown has matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1A, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1A.
Gerd Rundel has a demo copy of the first release
in a sleeve without a front sticker, like Augie Krater's copy shown. There
is a white demo sticker on the Side 1 record label. The record of this
copy has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1
      -
      XSM-79423-1A, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1D.
Scott from the USA has a second pressing copy of
the first release without the purple sticker and with matrix numbers: Side
      1 - XSM-79423-1B, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1B.
Gerard Germano has a copy with the first release sleeve, with a first release
label with "STEREO/360º SOUND" in black on Side 1, but with a second
release label with "STEREO/360º SOUND" in white on Side 2! The second release has red Columbia labels
      with the
      "STEREO/360º SOUND" logos in white,
"NONBREAKABLE" below the catalogue number to the left of the centre
      hole, and matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1C, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1C.
This copy, owned by Stuart Moore, came in a mono sleeve, so the correct
      sleeve can't yet be identified.
Thanks to Manuel García Jara for information that
the label design with white arrows was introduced in Jul/Aug 1965 (Bringing
It All Back Home had labels with black arrows on original release in
Mar 1965, and Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds still had labels with
black arrows on original release in Jun 1965).
Brett Sherris has a copy with the second release
labels pressed at Pittman, NJ, that still has matrix numbers: Side 1 -
XSM-79423-1A, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1A as shown. The sleeve is
as shown without a purple sticker. The inner sleeve is also shown,
although it appears to date from earlier than 1965.
Thanks to Hans Seegers,
Augie Krater, Gerard Germano, Stuart Moore,
Manuel García Jara, Gerd Rundel
and Brett Sherris for information and scans.

This album has the US sleeve but
the “COLUMBIA” logos on the front and rear are pasted over with “CBS” stickers.
"Columbia" at bottom right of the rear sleeve has been whitened out. There are
shaped dark red stickers with three CBS logos covering “COLUMBIA” on the labels,
which are the second release with  "STEREO/360º
SOUND" logos in white and "NONBREAKABLE". There
are also dark red shaped “CBS” stickers pasted over "Columbia" at the bottom of the labels. The
record of this copy has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1E,
Side 2 - XSM-79424-1F.

Columbia CS 9128 (USA) - detail of rear, scan by Gerd Rundel (fourth release
      - this copy has a heart symbol at bottom right, indicating Pitman, NJ)
The third 1960s release has no
stereo/arrows logo on the front sleeve and the record has red Columbia labels with the
      "STEREO/360º SOUND" logos in white,
and "NONBREAKABLE" is now missing from below the catalogue number to the left of the
centre hole. The record of the copy shown has matrix
      numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1J, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1D.

      The fourth 1960s
(1969-70) release comes in a sleeve which does have the stereo/arrows logo
as shown. The copy shown has a heart symbol on the rear sleeve at bottom
right. This indicates it is a reissue sleeve printed by Columbia at
Pitman, NJ. There are some record label differences from those of the
      third release: “CS 9128”
is now in bold italics and “STEREO” is now below it to the left of the centre hole; “SIDE 1/2”
is now in bold italics to the right of the centre hole. The record of the
      copy shown has matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1J, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1H.
Thanks to

and Gerd Rundel
for information and scans.

"Bringing It All Back Home" - stereo vinyl LP release, Columbia
      CS 9128 (USA), early 1970s:
Henry Cooper has a copy where the record has the
same "1G" matrix numbers but the labels in the earlier fourth design as
      above without "NONBREAKABLE". Brian Bourdages
has a copy where the record has exactly the same "CS 9128" labels and
comes in a sleeve with the front stereo arrows as shown above. This sleeve
has a white sticker across the spine at front top left with text "STEREO
KCS 9128" on the front and "KCS 9128" vertically on the spine. The matrix
numbers of the record are: Side 1 - XSM 79423-1A? (the marking
after "1" is very faint), Side 2 - XSM 79424-2B.

      (early 1970s release) |
Matt Moran has an early 1970s copy with a sticker
on the rear sleeve that reads "For Sale Only Aboard US Navy Ships Afloat".
This is because the price did not include sales tax.
I also have a picture of a copy of 1971's Bob
Dylan's Greatest Hits Vol. II with the same sticker. |

"Bringing It All Back Home" - stereo vinyl LP releases, Columbia
KCS 9128 (USA), 1972 onwards:
Gerd Rundel's copy has the same sleeve as Mick Robinson's copy except for
the gold promo stamp. This copy also has an "S" above the Columbia logo on
the rear sleeve. Like the last release of CS 9128, this
record again has 1970s Columbia labels with Columbia logos in a ring.

      The record of Gerd
      Rundel's 1972 copy has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1G,
      Side 2 - XSM-79424-1G. This
album was issued again in 1982, this time with the "Stereo" at the top
      blacked out (not shown).

Lars M. Banke has a copy of KCS 9128
purchased in Australia, with all instances of "Columbia" on the front and rear
sleeves obscured with black marker pen. The ring of "Columbia" logos on the
record label have been painted out in black, not covered with a ring-shaped
sticker as on many other export copies. The record of this copy has matrix
numbers: Side 1 - XSM 79423 1G, Side 2 - XSM 79424 1G, the same as
those of Colin Baker's copy of Columbia CS 9128 listed above.
Thanks to Lars M. Banke for information and

9128, one has the 1990s labels and the other has the older style labels

      Gerd Rundel
has a copy with a wraparound sticker on the sleeve with a barcode on the
rear and "PC 9128" on the spine. The catalogue number on the front and
rear of the sleeve is just "9128" but the record labels have catalogue
      number "JC 9128".
      The record of this
copy has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM 79423-2K, Side 2 -
XSM 79424-2H. Gerd Rundel's late 1980s release comes in the same PC
9128 sleeve with a barcode on the rear as Manuel and Patrick's 1990s
copies, but the record labels have catalogue number "C 9128" and still
have the older style design, this time with the inverted triangle symbol
to the left of the centre hole on Side 1 introduced with Biograph
in 1985. The record of this copy has handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1
      - (FXAP) XSM 79423-G2B, Side 2 - (FXAP) XSM 79424-G2C.

Jim Romeo has a copy with the third
      1980s labels
      with the inverted triangle
symbol to the left of the centre hole on Side 1. It actually plays a 1989
album called Voodoo by The Dirty Dozen Brass Band (Columbia C
45042) and has the expected matrix numbers for that album. There must have
been a batch of mispressed albums like this, but almost all of them would
have been returned by the buyers to be replaced.

"Bringing It All Back Home" - stereo vinyl LP
release, Columbia PC 9128 (USA for export), late 1980s/early 1990s:

Columbia PC 9128 (USA for export) - detail of rear, scan
by Gerd Rundel
Ronald Born says: "I've never seen this but I have
an US-pressing of The Byrds' Mr. Tambourine Man LP with a similar
sticker in blue. On the rear sleeve of this LP the Columbia logo is
covered with a small sticker with the same text. This copy was sold in the
early 1990s in Germany. There is a price sticker from WOM (World of
Music), 9.99.- DM. I think the big music stores got these overstock
records for a very attractive price, but had to "tune" them for the German
market." Dr Hanns Peter Bushoff adds: "I haven't seen this copy
either, but I've seen similar configurations by other Columbia artists.
EMI Electrola in Cologne, the company under whose roof the UK Columbia
products were issued since decades, had a very consistent business affairs
manager in the 1970s and 1980s who legally forced CBS Germany to sticker
imported Columbia albums (I've never seen this on singles or EPs, as they
were never imported) with CBS trademarks and the legal blurb on the
labels. I currently can't reconstruct when this obviously not very
necessary, but effective legal dispute began and ended, but I think it
ended in the mid-1980s already, - nevertheless it's quite possible that
quantities of these US imports survived until the early 1990s, when the
record chain WOM and possibly also other retailers sold them as overstock
copies. So I cannot really add that much to Roland's analysis, except that
the stickering was probably not done by WOM, but very likely at an earlier
stage by CBS Germany's import service."

Gerd Rundel also has a Columbia US export copy of the 1973 album Dylan
with the the same "CBS Family of Music" stickers on the sleeve and yellow
      label stickers.

was made by RTI (Record Technology Inc.) for Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. Each
record comes in a plain white sleeve with stamped pressing date and catalogue
number at top right of the front. Sides 1 and 3 have generic RTI labels and are
dated 20 Jul 2012 while Sides 2 and 4 have plain white labels. The test pressing
records have handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 - MFSL 2-380 A2 plus 20596.1
(3), KW @ MoFi opposite, Side 2 - MFSL 2-380 B1 plus 20550.2 (3), KW @ MoFi

MFSL 2-380 D2 plus 20596.4 (3), KW @ MoFi opposite.
In the matrix numbers, “KW @ MoFi” means that the records were mastered by Krieg Wunderlich of Mobile Fidelity.

Columbia

The box is made of black card and the top and bottom are
hinged together. There is a white wrap-around label with the artwork on the
front and track titles on the rear. Steven Fant's
copy has liner notes pasted inside the two halves of the box, apparently not all
copies had this.

     Columbia 14 10 0024
(USA) - front of cartridge, scan by Augie Krater |
This Bringing It All Back Home 4-track cartridge release has a
reshuffled tracklisting and Gates of Eden and It's Alright Ma (I'm Only
Bleeding) are missing entirely, making the album far more electric! Without
a 4-track player it is impossible to say for certain whether any of the
songs have edits (as the 8-track release below does).
Program 1: Subterranean Homesick Blues; On the
Road Again; Bob Dylan's 115th Dream; Mr. Tambourine Man.
Program 2: She Belongs To Me; Love Minus Zero/No
Limit; Maggie's Farm; Outlaw Blues; It's All Over Now, Baby Blue.

"Bringing It All Back Home" - 8-track stereo tape release, Columbia 18
10 0024 (USA), 1968; Columbia House PCA 24 (USA), 1974?:
 The
track order was rearranged to make all four programs of roughly equivalent
length:
Program 1: Subterranean Homesick Blues; On the Road Again; Bob Dylan's 115th
Dream
Program 2: She Belongs To Me; Love Minus Zero/No Limit; Gates Of Eden
Program 3: Maggie's Farm; Outlaw Blues; It's All Over Now, Baby Blue
Program 4: Mr. Tambourine Man, It's All Right Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) (edited
version).
This 8-track edition was released twice in red cartridges, both times with the same
front design. There was also a Columbia House record club edition with
different packaging (the example shown is still sealed in a slipcase and has a
black cartridge). Note the first variant of 18 10 0024 has three separate glued
labels while the second has two - the rear label folds over the end.

    The US and Canadian
first releases are virtually identical except for some slight differences:
the Canadian sleeve has the small text "LITHO IN CAN." vertically printed on
front, and on the rear the text "Printed in USA" is
missing. The record labels are identical with the black
STEREO/360º SOUND" logos,
even with the same typeface, except the text "Printed in Can." instead of
"Printed in USA". Manuel's first release copy shown is very strange: there are traces
of removed stickers over the Columbia logos on the front and rear of the sleeve;
but most noticeably on the record labels where it looks like similar ring-shaped
stickers to those of the export copies below have been removed. So, it appears
this copy was originally prepared for export, but for some reasons the stickers
were removed and it was after all sold in Canada - it was bought in Montreal,
Quebec, in Jun 1965. The record of this copy has
matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1D, Side
2 - XSM-79424-1A. |

Columbia CS 9128 (Canada) - detail of rear, scan by Manuel García Jara (1965 release)
Arie de Reus has a
Canadian copy of the 1960s release CS 9128 with mixed labels - one side has
a first release label with the "STEREO/360º SOUND" logos
in black, while the other side has a second release label with the "STEREO/360º
SOUND" logos in white, with "NONBREAKABLE" to the left of the centre hole.
Gerd Rundel's second release record has both labels
the same and comes in a sleeve with several differences from the 1965
sleeve: no "LITHO IN CAN." at front bottom right; "CS 9128" is above "Home"
on the rear sleeve, not at top right, and the mono catalogue number below
the "Columbia" logo is missing; “Shorepak Can. Pat. No. 758888, 1967” is
missing at the bottom of the rear sleeve.

Columbia CS 9128 (Canada) - front scan by Victoria Stafford |
Victoria Stafford has an album dated 1967 that must be a third and last Canadian two-eye
label style pressing of Bringing It All
Back Home. The front sleeve looks like the 1960s sleeve at top left, but
it doesn't have "LITHO IN CAN." at bottom right. The 1967 rear sleeve has
several differences from the 1965 sleeve: "CS 9128" is above "Home" in the
same position as "KCS 9128" on the 1970s sleeve, and it doesn’t have the two lines of copyright
text on the bottom but instead says “Shorepak Can. Pat. No. 758888, 1967” just like
Stan Denski’s early 1970s The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. The labels have
    the
2-eye design with white "STEREO"/"360 SOUND"/arrows logo, and do not have “NONBREAKABLE”.
The font and text layout of both sides look identical
to the 1970s labels - on Side 1 Love Minus Zero/No Limit is
on two lines, but not printed like an equation. |

Columbia CS 9128 (Canada), early 1970s:

The text layout on the labels is the same as on
Victoria Stafford's 1967 copy. Love Minus Zero/No Limit on Side 1 is on two
lines, but not printed like an equation. The bottom text on the labels reads
"MANUFACTURED BY COLUMBIA RECORDS OF CANADA LTD." The record of this copy has

    matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1A (handwritten), Side 2 - XSM-79424-1A
    (stamped).

    releases):

Columbia KCS 9128 (Canada) - front scan by Gerd Rundel (mid-1970s releases
    variants 1 & 2) |

The sleeves of Gerd Rundel's 1970s copies of KCS
9128 have several differences front and rear from the 1960s sleeves,
including new copyright text at the bottom rear. The records again have red Columbia
labels with the logos in a circle round the circumference, with the same text layout
as before, but with the new catalogue number as shown. The bottom text on the labels
of the first record reads "COLUMBIA (logo) MARCAS REG. MADE IN CANADA".

Columbia Records of Canada Ltd. was renamed CBS Records Canada Ltd. in late
1976, so this release is before then, as is the second record, where the
    bottom text reads "MANUFACTURED BY
    COLUMBIA RECORDS OF CANADA LTD."
    This copy has
    handwritten matrix
    numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423-1A, Side 2 - XSM 79424-1A-2H.

    The four post 1976 sleeve
	variants all have
"MANUFACTURED AND DISTRIBUTED BY CBS RECORDS CANADA LTD." at the bottom of
    the rear. The variants are:

1A - Bottom text on the rear sleeve on one line,
"KCS 9128" present on both the front and rear sleeves as shown in the
	detail scans above
1B - Bottom text on the rear sleeve on
	one line,
"KCS 9128" missing from both the front and rear sleeves as shown in the
	detail scans above
2A - Bottom text on the rear sleeve on
	two lines,
"KCS 9128" present on both the front and rear sleeves

2B - Bottom text on the rear sleeve on two lines,
"KCS 9128" missing from both the front and rear sleeves.

The bottom text on the labels of the record now reads "MANUFACTURED BY
CBS RECORDS CANADA LTD.".
The records in all four sleeves have
    the same handwritten matrix
numbers as the second mid-1970s record  above -
    Side 1 - XSM-79423-1A, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1A
    2H.

The KCS 9128 export copies owned by Lars
    M. Banke and Gerd Rundel listed below are examples of variant 1A with "KCS
9128" below "STEREO" on the front sleeves at top left and also above "Home"
on the rear sleeves. Both rear sleeves have "CBS RECORDS CANADA" bottom text
	on one line only.

    - front scan from an Internet record dealer |
This interesting item is said to be a picture disc edition of the
Columbia Canada release, shown here in a clear plastic sleeve. However, as
far as I know, no Dylan picture discs have ever been released by Columbia
worldwide. These albums were made unofficially in Germany or Italy. For a
"Brazilian" picture disc release, see below. Thanks to Ed Ricardo for
    finding this item. |

"Bringing It All Back Home" - stereo vinyl LP releases, Columbia KCS 9128 (Canada
for export), 1972 onwards:
Lars M. Banke has four copies of the 1970s
Canadian release KCS 9128 bought in Sweden. Three have the Columbia
name and logos on the sleeves and record labels obscured (the other has
"Columbia" obscured on the sleeve but not on the record labels). This
obscuring is done because
Columbia then traded as CBS in countries where the Columbia trade name was at
that time owned
by EMI.

Copy 2 has the Columbia logos on the sleeve obscured with black marker pen. This
time there are no stickers on the copy 2 record labels (not shown).

Gerd Rundel has a copy of what looks like the same KCS 9128 release exported to
Europe with
the Columbia logos on the sleeve obscured with black marker pen. The record
labels have unique orange ring-shaped stickers with six black CBS logos.

sleeve. The record has black ring-shaped stickers obscuring the Columbia
information like copy 1. On copy 3 the "KCS 9128" under "STEREO" in the front left
hand top corner is missing, as is also the "KCS 9128" above "Home" on the

This album was released in stereo in the UK in May 1965, again in the late 1960s, the mid
1970s, and then re-released in 1983 with a new catalogue number, CBS 32344.
The 1965 stereo album has the "STEREO"/arrows logo on the front sleeve in varying
locations, which implies that it was printed separately (at random!). The sleeve was printed by Ernest J. Day & Co., Ltd. and
the rear has three folded-over flaps. The 1965 record has orange
CBS labels and the copy shown has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A; Side 2 - SBPG 62515 B.
Mick Robinson has a copy of the first pressing with "AC" stamped on the rear
sleeve and Side 1 record label - this may denote "Advanced Copy".
On all these Side 1 record labels "Love
Minus Zero/No Limit" is listed as "Love Minus Zero - No Limit" on one line. |

Thanks to Marco Stadler and Andre de Gaye
for photos of first pressing copies with different front sleeves in that the
"STEREO"/arrows logo is at the top right and bottom of the front sleeve
instead of the top. These copies have the same rear sleeve and record labels
as Hans Seegers' copy as well as the same matrix numbers. The playing speed
on the first pressing labels is just "33" - on the later label design
    below it is
    "33⅓". The catalogue
number on the record labels is shown as "CBS Sbpg

    62515" or "CBS
    sbpg 62515". |

Gerd Rundel has
a copy where the record has first release variant labels. It comes in a sleeve
with top right stereo/arrows logo as shown above. The
rear sleeve is the same as shown on Hans' rear scan of the first release. This
may be a contract pressing by a company such as EMI because the Side 2 record label has British
purchase tax code “K/T” stamped on either side of the centre hole. The
catalogue number on the labels of this copy is “sbpg
62515” while Hans' copy has “Sbpg
62515” ("S" in full-sized capitals). The record of this copy has
stamped matrix
numbers: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A, Side 2 - SBPG 62515 B. Simon Blokker has a
similar copy with the catalogue number on the labels as “sbpg
62515”, the same record matrix
numbers, and the same sleeve printed by Ernest J. Day & Co., Ltd. However, on
his record labels the song titles are more widely spaced than on the labels of
Gerd's copy, with much less space between song 7 and "MADE IN ENGLAND".

    CBS SBPG 62515 (UK) -
    detail of rear,
scan by Gerd Rundel (first release)
Kimmo Niemi from Finland has two copies of the UK stereo release, both
have orange CBS labels with "33" playing speed (not "33⅓").
One of the copies has the "STEREO"/arrows logo at front top centre,
the other has it at top right. One of the copies has UK matrixes, "SPBG 62515", the other copy, has the US matrixes, starting with
    "XSM 79423".
Both labels look like the first UK pressing, but the US matrix labels are “smoother” rather than
the CBS UK rough (textured) labels.

The stereo/arrows logo is missing from the front and
rear sleeve of the late 1960s release. The rear sleeve has a second piece of
boxed text with "CBS Stereo Records can be played on Mono Reproducers", etc. The late 1960s
record still has orange CBS labels with different text font and layout. The playing speed is
    now "33⅓".
"Love Minus Zero/No Limit" is now listed as
    "Love Minus Zero

The record of Manuel's copy with the printer's name and
the red "STEREO"/arrows stamp on the rear sleeve has the same labels as shown
and stamped matrix numbers:

    Side 1 -SBPG 62515 A2, Side 2 - SBPG 62515 B2. Mick Robinson's copy also has the printer's name and
address, "Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London". Manuel García Jara has a copy like
this, but both he and Hans Seegers have copies where the printer's name and
address are missing, probably from a different printer. Manuel has another copy
with the printer's name where the rear sleeve has a red "STEREO"/arrows stamp at
top centre.

Gerd Rundel has a late 1960s variant with a different
pressing ring on Side 1. Side 2 looks the same as Manuel's copy. This record
comes in a sleeve without a stereo/arrows logo and the printer's name is missing
on the rear.

release bought there with a gold foil price sticker for 17/90 Israeli
shekels on the front sleeve. The rear sleeve has a gold foil sticker with
"Stereo". The record has late 1960s release UK labels as shown immediately
    above with playing speed "33⅓"
but there is a Hebrew character written in the vinyl as shown. Apparently
CBS Israel bought sleeves and labels from the UK but the records themselves
    were pressed in Israel. |

The record labels of the first
copy have: "Sbpg 62515" to the
right of the centre hole;
"(P)
1965" is missing to the right of the centre hole; "BOB DYLAN" is above
the album title like the 1960s releases; Songs 3 and 4 on Side 2 have "(B.
Dylan)" below the song titles on separate lines. On the Side 1 label the text
above and on either side of the centre hole is more highly positioned than on
the Side 2 label, but this may just be for this specific copy.
The record
labels of the second copy have: "S BPG 62515" to the right of the centre hole;
"(P)
1965" has returned to the right of the centre hole; "BOB DYLAN" is below
the album title like the late 1970s and the 1980s releases; Songs 3 and 4 on
Side 2 have "(B. Dylan)" on the same lines as the song titles.
The
records of both copies shown have stamped matrix numbers: Side

    the UK music licensing company

London to 14-22 Ganton Street in 1977, so this release is after then. It
does not have the "LC|0149" in a capsule on the sleeve and record labels
that are on UK CBS releases from the end of the 1970s, and on the 1980s
releases, see below. There must be a late 1970s/early 1980s copy with
orange/yellow CBS record labels where the sleeve and labels have these
    codes.
The
orange/yellow CBS record labels are different from those of the mid 1970s copies:
  -

different type face of the record speed right to the centre hole

  -
  no
underline for “Love Minus Zero/No Limit” on Side 1 label (LOVE MINUS ZERO
  is in
  bold face)

  -
  no
release year like first mid 1970s copy

There
is also an error in the listed US matrix numbers to the right of the centre hole
because both sides have “XSM 79424”, the Side 1 US matrix number should
be “XSM 79423” (see US releases). The record of the copy shown has matrix
numbers: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A2 (stamped), Side 2 - CBS-S-62515-B-3

This late 1970s/early 1980s release with the mono catalogue number comes in the
same sleeve as the late 1970s copy immediately above. The record has
orange/yellow CBS labels without "LC|0149" in a capsule, with the album title
above "Bob Dylan", no underline for "Love Minus Zero/No Limit" as
above.
The error in the listed US matrix numbers to the right of the centre hole
with both sides having “XSM 79424” (Side 1 should be
“XSM 79423”)
is repeated.
“MADE IN

CBS BPG 62515 (UK) - Side 2 scan
by Ronald Born (second late 1970s/early

This second late 1970s/early 1980s release with the mono
catalogue number again comes in the same sleeve as the late 1970s copy
immediately above. The record labels now have "MADE IN ENGLAND" in the
circumference text and CBS copyright info at the bottom. "Love Minus Zero/No
Limit" is again as immediately above and
the error in
the listed US matrix numbers to the right of the centre hole on Side 1 is still
uncorrected.
The matrix numbers seem to be the same as for the first CBS
32344 release below (including "32344"): Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A2 (stamped) 32344
(stamped), Side 2 - CBS 32344 B4 (handwritten) 62515 (handwritten), so this may
be the last release with the "62515" catalogue number.

Around 1982 all Dylan albums were reissued in the UK with orange/yellow
CBS labels and catalogue numbers "CBS 323xx". The 1982 sleeve
again has no "STEREO" logo on the front, and the catalogue number is now CBS
32344. The sleeve now has folded under flaps. Track 4 on Side 1 is again
"Love Minus Zero - No Limit". The album title is above "BOB DYLAN". The
record of the 1982 copy shown has orange/yellow CBS labels with matrix
    numbers: Side 1 - 62515-A2/2B-1 32344 (stamped), Side 2 - CBS 32344 B4 - 62515

The album was released again in 1983 with the same sleeve, again with
orange/yellow CBS labels of a different design.
    The album
title is now below "BOB DYLAN" and the text layout is exactly the same as
that of the 1984 red CBS record labels.

There are two record label variants, both have "MADE IN ENGLAND" in the
circumference text to the right of the centre hole. The first has no text at
the bottom of the labels, the second has CBS copyright info at the bottom.
The records of both copies shown have matrix numbers: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A2 (stamped), 32344
    (stamped), Side 2
    - CBS 32344 B4 (handwritten), 62515 (handwritten).

The album was released again in 1984 with the same sleeve. The record now
has red CBS labels with text identical to that of the second 1983 release
shown, and comes in an original white “NICE PRICE” inner sleeve
showing details of other CBS releases in the series. The copy shown has
    matrix numbers: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A2 (stamped), 32344 (stamped), Side 2
    - CBS-32344 B4 - 62515 (handwritten).

The late 1980s release comes in the same sleeve as the 1983 and 1984 releases. The
record again has red CBS labels and comes in a different “NICE PRICE” inner sleeve
showing details of other CBS releases in the series, black this time. The copy shown has
    the same matrix numbers as the 1984 release: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A2, 32344 (stamped), Side 2 - CBS-32344
B4 – 62515 (handwritten). The only differences that I can see between the
1984 and the late 1980s record labels are that the white CBS copyright
information at the bottom of the 1984 label has been moved to the
circumference text of the late 1980s label, which is now a much bolder
    white.
 Peter
Oudejans and Gerd Rundel have copies where the circumference text is shorter
because "MADE IN ENGLAND" is missing, only the CBS copyright info is in the
    circumference text.
    CBS 32344 (Ireland),
    1980s:
CBS 32344 was also released in Ireland - it has the
1983 Shorepak UK sleeve as above but
the record has "Record mfd. in Ireland" on the labels as well as
"MADE IN ENGLAND" in the circumference text. Thanks to Gerd
Rundel for finding this on eBay and to Lars M. Banke for scans.

with 1983 release above)
The record this time has
red Columbia labels, and "MADE IN ENGLAND" is missing at bottom centre or
in the circumference text (the album may by now have been made in Holland for the UK market).
The record of the copy shown has handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 -32344-A3,
Side 2 - CBS-32344 B4 - 62515.

"Bringing It All Back Home" -
stereo cassette releases, CBS
40-62515 (UK), 1970s (two releases); CBS 40-32344 (UK),
1982; Columbia/CBS 40-32344 (UK), early 1990s:

CBS
40-62515 (UK), 1970s (three releases):
 The second
release of CBS 40-62515 has minimal artwork and a light-grey cassette with black
text printed directly on it, there are no paper labels.
 The
third
release of CBS 40-62515 has the same sized insert as the second release
but a completely different design both outside and inside with side and track
timings. As the insert design is the same as that of the first release of CBS
40-32344 below, I date this release as late 1970s/early 1980s. It again has a
light-grey cassette with black text printed directly on it, the same as the
second release.

CBS
40-32344 (UK), 1982:
    The
catalogue number of the third cassette release is now CBS 40-32344, the
new "Nice Price" catalogue number. Again, it has minimal artwork
(the same design as the third release of CBS 40-62515 above except for the
new catalogue number) and a light-grey cassette with black
text printed directly on it, with the same 1960s CBS logo as before.

    The
fourth release from the early 1990s now has a Columbia catalogue number,
Columbia CBS 40-32344, the Columbia logo on the insert spine, and a barcode
on the rear. Yet again it has minimal artwork. The cassette is now
    transparent with white
text printed directly on it. The cassette shown still has CBS logos, so was
probably sold in the late 1980s with a CBS insert, possibly again with a
barcode. Are there 1990s UK cassettes with the Columbia logo?

This album has the US stereo sleeve with "CBS" replacing "Columbia". The
record labels are like the second US stereo release in that they have "STEREO" and
the "360° SOUND"/arrows logo in white
and "NONBREAKABLE" (see above), although the text layouts are
different.

    Thanks to Hans Seegers and
Manuel García Jara for information that the sleeves and records (without
labels) were imported from the USA, but the CBS record labels were
printed locally. CBS had a record pressing facility in Singapore
from 1967, so records after that were sourced locally. There are two
sleeve variants and two label styles, although the first label style has two
    sub-variants.

Both
front sleeves are the same, with "CBS" instead of "Columbia" in the logo at top
left. The rear sleeves also have "CBS" instead of "Columbia" in the logo at top
right.
The first variant rear sleeve has “PRINTED IN USA” in the lower right hand
corner, although the "COLUMBIA" from the US equivalent sleeve is missing. The
second variant rear sleeve just has "MARCAS REG." in the same position, so may
not have been printed in the USA.
 All the
record labels have three "CBS" logos. The first variant Side 1 label comes in
two sub-variants, both with the first song listed above the centre hole, and the
song titles centred. The records both come in the first variant sleeve. The
first sub-variant has

"33⅓
RPM" to the right of the centre hole,
while it's missing on the second sub-variant, which also has
different
typefaces. On the second sub-variant
"NONBREAKABLE"
looks like "NONBREAKARLE", although this may just be a printing error.

The second
variant record label again has different text typefaces with all songs listed
below the centre hole and left aligned. "NONBREAKABLE" is now "Nonbreakable.

All three
records have handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 - XSM-79423, Side 2 - XSM-79424.

CBS CS 9128 (Philippines) - front scan by Hans Seegers |

       This
rare album with the US catalogue number has a sleeve printed in the USA.
      The record has
orange stereo CBS labels and was manufactured in the Philippines
for Columbia Records Inc. by Mareco Inc. (Later
Philippines stereo records were made for CBS/Sony Japan by Blackgold
Records Inc. and OctoArts International Inc.) It has "Columbia" in the
logo on the front sleeve but "CBS" on the rear sleeve and record labels. The
record of the copy shown has stamped matrix numbers:

      Side 1 - XSM-79423-1A, Side 2 - XSM-79424-1D.
Gerd Rundel has a copy with the same sleeve. The record has the same
stamped matrix numbers, but the labels are different in the centre: to the
left of the centre hole the "STEREO"/arrows logo is below the catalogue
number and "NONBREAKABLE" and to the right of the centre hole "XSM 79423"
on Side 1 and "XSM 79424" on Side 2 have no brackets. Also, the
text round the circumference of the labels is different and the second
lines of the titles of tracks 3 and 4 on Side 2 are not indented as they
      are on Hans Seegers' copy.
Thanks to Hans Seegers and Gerd Rundel for information and scans.

"Subterranean Homesick Blues [Bringing It All Back Home]" - stereo vinyl
LP releases, CBS S 62515 (NL), 1967, re-released 1975 onwards; CBS 32344
(NL), 1982, re-released late 1980s:
This album was released in Holland under the alternative title of what must
have been considered at the time to be its most marketable track. The stereo
album was surprisingly released in multiple variants. For the 1965 mono release of
the album with this title, see Mono Album
Releases.
The album was also released under this title in West Germany and Portugal (see below).

(six variants):

CBS S 62515 (NL), first commercial release - front scan by Hans Seegers |
1 This first stereo sleeve is laminated and has two
folded flaps on the rear sleeve, unlike the three on the mono version.

The label has the first song title for the side under the album title
      above the centre hole.
As well as the album shown Lars M. Banke has a copy bought at a Dutch record
fair with this sleeve and variant 2 record labels.

2 The second stereo front sleeve is also laminated and
has the "STEREO" logo with arrows above "Bob Dylan".

The rear sleeve has the words "NL
      PRINTED IN HOLLAND"
      vertically at the bottom right.
The label has "Produced by Tom Wilson" under the album title
above the centre hole. All the song titles are below the centre hole. |

3 The third stereo front sleeve is not
laminated, but is otherwise the same as the first - the "STEREO"
logo has gone again! The "STEREO" logo is now moved to the rear sleeve, and there
is a "B" in the top right-hand corner, and at the bottom right-hand
corner the previous information about the type of stereo pickup required
is omitted - the vertical words "NL PRINTED IN HOLLAND"
      remain.
The labels from this copy go back to the first design. |

  Differences are detailed below:
	-

The labels are the same as the first
and third pressings with one song listed above the centre hole.

	-

The sleeve has no visible flaps (like
  all but the first pressing).

	-

The sleeve is laminated (first,
  second, sixth pressings).

	-

The catalogue number
	starts with an "S" (first
  through fifth pressings).

	-

The sleeve has the "STEREO"/arrows
logo on both the front and back.

	-

The rear sleeve has a circled
	"B" in the
top right corner (like the third pressing).

	-

"NL
	Printed in Holland" is printed
vertically on the rear sleeve and is next to the information about recommended
  pickups (like the second pressing).

CBS S 62515, fourth commercial release (NL), detail of rear sleeve - scan by Hans
Seegers (note "STEREO" logo and "Y") |

4 The fourth stereo front sleeve is the same as
the third, not laminated, with no "STEREO" logo. On the rear
sleeve the "B" in the top right-hand corner is now a
"Y", and the text "NL PRINTED IN HOLLAND" is now
printed horizontally instead of vertically. The label is the same as the
      third.

5 Gerd Rundel has a different copy of the album that
I shall now call the fifth release. It is not laminated, and has "CBS S 62515" on
the front above the CBS logo and on the spine. It has "Y" and "60" in
circles at top right of the rear sleeve while the text "NL PRINTED IN HOLLAND"
is printed horizontally as on the fourth sleeve but has "LC 0149" in a
capsule in the bottom right hand corner. The labels are the new style
orange/yellow design with catalogue number "CBS 62515" as for the sixth
release. The record has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - S-62515-1, Side 2-
S 62515-B. Anders Ydremark has a copy of this release from a 1978 Swedish
"Collector's Series" three LP boxed set which has a box made in Sweden but
records made in Holland. For more details see

International Album Releases (Multi-Packs) 1970s. The record of this
    copy also has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - S-62515-1, Side 2- S 62515-B.

 CBS
62515, sixth commercial release (NL) - Side 1 scan by Hans Seegers (1975 onwards,
    same as fifth release) |
6 The sixth stereo sleeve is exactly the
same as the fourth, except that it is again laminated and the catalogue
number is just CBS 62515. It was originally released with the third label
design, but a new label was used from 1975 onwards, when the orange/yellow
design as above replaced the orange design. |

variants):

CBS S 62515 (Spain for NL) - front scan by
Manuel García Jara (all variants) |
This album has a choice of three Dutch sleeves but the
record itself was made in Spain. The sleeve is not laminated. The front has
the Dutch title Subterranean Homesick Blues and it has a CBS logo
with Stereo information in a box at top left: this logo style is not present
on any other Dutch sleeve and is exclusive to this release. The variant 1 rear sleeve
has a CBS logo without catalogue number and a "B" in a circle at top right,
All rear variants also have the text "NL
printed in holland" printed vertically at bottom right. Although
    all the
sleeves have the Dutch title, the record labels have the standard title
Bringing It All Back Home. |

Manuel García Jara (variant 1 - text on left only)

CBS S 62515 (Spain for NL) - detail of rear, scan by
Lars M. Banke (variants 2 & 3 - text on left and right)
On the rear sleeve of the copy already on the website
the only text element at the top of the rear sleeve is a "B" in a circle in the
upper right corner of the sleeve. Also the only text at the bottom of this rear
sleeve is "CBS Is a Trademark of the Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc." Lars M
Banke has two copies where the front sleeve is the same as shown, but the rear
sleeves are different. On the rear sleeve of the first of these copies the
"STEREO Can Also Be Played in Mono" box with arrows is added to the left of the
"B" in the circle. and the text "A Stereo Pickup of maximum 8 g stylus force
(Maximum tip radius 0,7 mil) is recommended" is added at bottom right. On the
rear sleeve of the second of these copies there is no "B" in a circle at top
right, but "THIS STEREO RECORDING CAN ALSO BE PLAYED IN MONO PROVIDED A MODERN,
LIGHTWEIGHT PICKUP IS USED" is added at top left. This sleeve also has the same
extra text at rear bottom right as the first of Lars' copies.
As well as "MADE IN SPAIN" at the bottom, the
record labels
also have several differences from Dutch labels. The tracklist text has the
usual typeface of labels made in Spain by CBS itself after 1972 when CBS Spain had its
own pressing plant. This text has the same lines and identical distribution of
tracks per lines. The labels have the text "(P) 1972 CBS, Inc", the date of when
this record was first released in Spain, not "1967" the year of release in
Holland. The different titles on the sleeve and on the record labels make these albums very collectable. Also, these records don't have Dutch matrix numbers -
they are identical to those of the second Spanish edition below taken from the
UK release (the one made by CBS itself, not the first Spanish edition made by COFASA with US matrix numbers).
All three copies shown have matrix numbers: Side 1 - SBPG
62515 A2, Side 2 - SBPG 62515 B2.

7 The seventh stereo sleeve from 1982 is different again. The catalogue number is now CBS 32344 although
the front sleeve has no catalogue number or CBS logo.
The front sleeve of Manuel García Jara's copy has a "NICE PRICE" sticker
with text in English, French and German. The ancillary text on the rear sleeve is also different, and the record
still has orange/yellow CBS labels, this time with the tracklist printed
continuously instead of one song per line.
The record of Manuel García Jara's copy has matrix numbers: Side 1
    - 01-62515-1A-1 (stamped) S-62515-1 (handwritten), Side 2 - NL

233213 (Australia) - front scan by Manuel García Jara (1965 and mid-1960s releases) |

There were not one, but two different
Australian releases of Bringing It All Back Home
with the Allan's logo on the record labels. Both have the same sleeve but
different labels. The rear sleeve has two folded-over flaps, although it looks
like there are three - this is because of the line on the right where the front
laminate finishes. This first sleeve is different from the late 1960s and 1970s
sleeves shown below: it has the classic "STEREO"/arrows/"360 SOUND" logo at
front top centre, instead of the "STEREO/CAN ALSO BE PLAYED ON MONO EQUIPMENT"
logo.
First label variant: On both sides
the Allan's logo is bigger so there is less space between this logo and the
centre CBS logo and the text elements above and below.
Second label variant: On both sides
there is a smaller Allan's logo so the space between the logo, the central CBS
logo and the text elements above and below is bigger. This second copy is a
sampler record with a promo stamp on side 2 (there is no promo stamp on the
second sleeve).
The records of both
label variants have identical stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - MX145943
SBP233213-1, Side 2 - MX145944  SBP233213-2.

The record of the late 1960s release has plain orange CBS labels, the 1970s
reissue has orange/yellow CBS labels. The late 1960s release shown has no
Allan's logo - Allan's were music publishers in Australia for Bob Dylan records
between 1965 and 1969, so this release is after then.
The plain orange record labels shown have round the circumference at the bottom the
text "MADE IN AUSTRALIA BY A REGISTERED USER OF THE TRADE MARKS"
without a CBS copyright. This is because up to 1977 all Australian records were
manufactured by the Australian Record Company (Pty) Ltd. (A.R.C.) on behalf of CBS. A.R.C.
changed its name to CBS Records Australia Limited on 17 Oct 1977, and after
that date the longer bottom edge text includes the CBS copyright
information. (Stuart Moore says that the label change may not have occurred
till late 1978 or early 1979, Bob Dylan At Budokan from 1978 still does
not have a CBS copyright nor does Masterpieces, Slow Train Coming
from 1979 does have the CBS copyright.)
    Thanks to Stuart Moore, Peter
Lindberg, Lars M. Banke and Manuel García Jara for information and scans.

"Bringing It All Back Home" -
stereo vinyl LP releases, CBS
SBP 473204 (New Zealand), 1967; CBS
SBP 474241 (New Zealand), 1974:
The first of these two releases dates from
before 1969, because the record labels still have the Allan's logo (Allan's were
music publishers in New Zealand for Bob Dylan records between 1965 and 1969).
The sleeve has three folded-over flaps on the back and was used for both mono
and stereo releases, with the stereo copy shown having a "STEREO"/arrows logo
sticker on the front.
The second
release, CBS SBP 474241, dates from 1974 because the New Zealand release of
Dylan in 1973 was SBP 474158 and the New Zealand release of Blood On The
Tracks in early 1975 was SBP 474262. The labels no longer have the Allan's logo,
and the rear sleeve gives the US catalogue
number as KCS 9128 (1972 onwards, see above). This time the sleeve is stereo-specific, with a slightly
different layout of the text elements and pictures on the rear. The sleeve was made in New
Zealand by Phonogram Limited, Wellington, part of what was then Philips, later
PolyGram, and now Universal. Both the records have orange CBS labels, but the
layout of the text elements is quite different on the second record.
Thanks to Bill Hester for information and scans.

CBS/Sony SONP 50326 was the first release in Japan,
after CBS Records was taken over by Sony in 1968. Material from this album had
already appeared in Japan on CBS Dylan compilation releases, see
International Albums (Dylan-only Compilations). Mr. Tambourine Man, Love
Minus Zero/No Limit and On The Road again had appeared on Bob Dylan
(1965) while Maggie's Farm had appeared on Bob Dylan Vol. 2 (1966). The sleeve notes on the rear
of the album are in Japanese, with the pictures missing. The promo copy of SONP 50326 shown has black and white CBS/Sony labels, the commercial
    release has orange/cream, both with matrix numbers: Side 1 - 50326 A1 1A4,
Side 2 - 50326 A1 1B5. The album has an orange, white and black card obi
with price ¥1,800 and a four page booklet.

rear of the top obi no longer has a price (not printed or a sticker). The price
is also missing from the bottom edge of the rear sleeve at the end of the
copyright text as shown in the detail scan. The record of this copy has the same

This new stereo vinyl release from Sony
Music Japan comes with a reproduction of the original first release obi from
1970. The price is now ¥4,180 whereas the original price was ¥1,800! It
comes with a 60th Anniversary postcard commemorating Bob's debut on Columbia
Records. The "60 Dylan" picture is based on a work by Hiroshige Utagawa
(spot Bob and Suze). The Japanese script says "60 years since his debut
album was released" (19 Mar 1962 in the USA, although not until 1966 in
Japan). The original picture is called "Sudden Shower over Shin-Ohashi
Bridge and Atake" and dates from 1857. |

by COFASA for Discos CBS S.A. and the second was made by Discos CBS S.A.
itself. The sleeve was printed by Offset ALG of Madrid, and is dated 1972 and 1973.
The address of Discos CBS S.A. is Calle Princesa 1, Madrid-13. The song titles on the sleeve and the record labels are
in English. The sleeve notes are also in English and there is an inner
sleeve with lyrics in English. The record has orange CBS labels with layout
differences as shown between the COFASA and CBS labels. The record of Manuel García Jara's COFASA copy has stamped US matrix numbers:
    Side 1 - XSM 79423 1H, Side 2 - XSM 79423
1G. The record of Gerd Rundel's CBS copy has
    stamped UK matrix

CBS S 62515 (Spain) - detail of rear, scan by
Manuel García Jara (1975 release, Discos CBS address "Calle Princesa
1, Madrid-13")
The front sleeve is identical to that of previous
releases but the
copyright text at bottom of the rear sleeve is different as shown. The CBS Spain
address is still Calle Princesa 1, Madrid-13, so the latest date the album could
be is early 1976. One strange feature is that the record labels do not have the
stereo arrows logo below "ESTEREO" to the left of the centre hole, like the
previous 1973 orange label releases and the subsequent orange/yellow releases
(1978, 1983) and even the red label releases (1989, 1991).
"Love Minus Zero" on Side 1 is not in italics, unlike the 1978 releases below.
The record of the copy shown has matrix numbers: Side 1 - SBPG 62515 A2, Side 2
- SBPG 62515 B2.
Lars M. Banke has a 1975 copy with
a label variant with "33⅓"
centred below "ESTEREO" to the left of the centre hole. not aligned to the right
as label variant 1. However, the sleeve is the 1979-1980 version with the "Avenida
Generalissimo 25, Madrid 16" text at the bottom of the rear sleeve as below, so
may not be the original. The inner sleeve has song lyrics in English. The record
of this copy has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - 62515 A O, Side 2 - 62515 B O.

The album was re-released in 1978. The sleeve was again printed by
Offset ALG of Madrid. The CBS logo is still at top left of the front sleeve.
The text at the bottom of the rear sleeve is different from the 1973 release
and is still dated 1972, although the printer information printed vertically
at bottom right no longer includes a date. The address of Discos CBS S.A., is now Avenida del Generalísimo
25, Madrid-16. There is still an inner
sleeve with lyrics in English. The record was made by Discos CBS this time.
It has orange/yellow CBS labels and "Love Minus Zero" on the Side 1 label is
in italics on both variants. The first copy shown has
the "SGAE" box between the catalogue number and the Spanish copyright
information to the right of the centre hole on the Side 1 label. This copy has matrix numbers:
    Side 1 - 62515 Aº, Side 2 - 62515 Bº.
The second copy shown has the "SGAE" box immediately above the
Spanish copyright information to the right of the centre hole on the Side 1
  label.

    This copy has matrix numbers:

  record labels are identical.

This LP was again made in Spain by
Discos CBS S.A., Madrid. The orange/yellow CBS record labels have significant
differences from those of the 1978 variants. "Love Minus Zero" on the
Side 1 label is again in italics.
To the left of the centre hole,
“r.p.m.” is added to "33⅓",
and words “Cara”, “ESTEREO” and the stereo arrows are differently positioned.

The album was re-released in 1983 with a new catalogue
number, CBS 32344. The CBS logo is missing from the top left of the front
sleeve. The sleeve was again printed by Offset ALG of Madrid. Discos CBS
has a new Madrid address, Paseo
de la Castellana 93, Madrid-16. The record was still made by Discos CBS
S.A., and again has orange/yellow CBS labels with three variants.
Lars' variant 1 copy came with the inner lyrics
sleeve as above, the variants 2 and3 copies did not. The record of the
variant 1 copy still had stamped matrix numbers:

Manuel García Jara (1983 release all variants, still dated 1972 on bottom
    line, Discos CBS address "Paseo
de la Castellana 93, Madrid-16")The record of
Lars' variant 1 copy has significantly different labels that must have been quickly
replaced. The circumference text is much longer. On both labels the album title
is misspelled as "BRINGIND IT ALL BACK
HOME". To the left of the centre hole there are no arrows under "ESTEREO" and
"33⅓"
is on a separate third line; To the right
of the centre hole "SGAE" under the new catalogue number is not in a box and "Depósito
Legal... 1983" is on the third line above the CBS copyright. In the Side 1 song
titles She Belongs To Me is misprinted as "SHE BELONG TO ME" and Love Minus Zero
No Limit is not in italics.
The record of Lars' variant 2 copy has new labels. The
circumference text is the same as before. On both labels the album title is now correct.
To the left of the centre hole the arrows are back under "ESTEREO" and
"33⅓"
is on the second line; To the right of the
centre hole "SGAE" under the new catalogue number is back in a box and "Depósito
Legal... 1983" is missing so that the CBS copyright is the third line. In the
Side 1 song titles She Belongs To Me is now correct and "Love Minus Zero" is back in italics
(although not "No Limit
"). "Depósito Legal...
1983" is now on the bottom line of the labels below the song titles. The
record of this copy has stamped matrix
numbers: Side 1 - 62515 A, Side 2 - 62515 B.
The record of Manuel's variant 3 copy has similar labels
to variant 2 with all the mistakes corrected. The circumference text is now
shorter because "Impuesto de lujo a metalico - Permiso Num. 5053" is now
missing.

    correct) |

CBS 40-62515 (Spain) - cassette Side 2 scan
    by Manuel García Jara |

The cassette labels of this release are dated "1973" but
the inside of the insert card has "1974". The cassette is off white with orange
CBS paper labels. Although the spelling on the folded insert is correct, Bob Dylan is wrongly listed as
"BOB DYLBN" at the top text line of the Side 1 cassette label and as "B.
Dilan" as the composer on both labels. The artist name on the top text line
of the Side 2 label is correct.
    Thanks to Manuel García Jara
    for information and scans.
"Bringing It All Back Home" - stereo
cassette release,
CBS 40-32344 (Spain), 1983:

CBS 40-32344 (Spain) - outside of cassette
insert, scan by Manuel García Jara |
This is the cassette equivalent of the 1983 LP
release above with the new catalogue number. It has a short insert with
the track titles and copyright information on the inside. The Discos CBS
address is Paseo de la Castellana 93, Madrid-16. |

    by Manuel García Jara |

The cassette is white with orange text printed directly
on to it, there are no paper labels.
    This tape has the same
mistakes, repeated again and again on some Spanish LP and cassette releases:
this time the titles are correct in the insert, but not on the cassette
("Maggie!s Farm", "It!s Alright, Ma" and "It!s All Over
Now, Baby Blue"). As Manuel explains, this could be because the apostrophe
    does not exist in Spanish.

62515 (Italy) - front scan by Lars M. Banke (1975 release) |
Both these stereo releases were manufactured
in Italy by CBS Sugar, distributed by Messaggerie Musicali, Milan. The sleeves were printed by Reparto Tipolitografico. The rear of the

1975 stereo sleeve has two folded-over flaps. The rear of the 1978 stereo sleeve has no folded-over flaps. Both
    records are dated
"1967" on the labels. Both copies shown have the
same front sleeve. The second CBS labels can be dated to 1978
because the text "MADE IN ITALY BY CBS SUGAR" now just says ""MADE IN ITALY BY
CBS", but still aligned as if "SUGAR" were present. Both records have an
"SIAE" Italian copyright stamp on the Side 1 label, although the one
on the 1978 Side 1 label (left of the centre hole) is hard to see. The
record of Andrea Brillo's 1975 copy has stamped matrix numbers: Side 1 - S
    62515 - 1, Side 2 - S 62515 - B. Thanks to Lars M. Banke
and Andrea Brillo for information and scans. |

CBS 62515 (Greece) - detail of Side 2, scan by Lars M. Banke (second
      release -

      "TAMBURINE" mistake) |

      The
catalogue number of the first release is the same as the fifth Dutch release
      above, "CBS S 62515".
The sleeve was made in Greece. It has Greek text on the rear sleeve and a
printer code "MT 4961". (The mid-1970s Greek
releases had a printer code "MT 49xx" on the rear sleeve at bottom right.)
      The
first release record was made in Greece and has orange/yellow
CBS labels with handwritten matrix numbers:
      Side 1 - S 62515-A, Side 2 - S 62515-B. The catalogue number on the labels
is just "CBS 62515". Both labels have one line of circumference
text and on the Side 2 label

Mr. Tambourine Man is spelled correctly.

      The second CBS
S 62515 release comes in the same sleeve as the first, made in Greece.

Both labels now have two lines of circumference text. On the Side 2 label, Mr. Tambourine Man on
Side 2 is misspelled "MR. TAMBURINE MAN".

CBS 32344 (NL/Greece), 1980s:

CBS 32344 (NL for Greece) - detail of rear, scan by Lars M. Banke ("Made in
Holland")

The record labels are similar to those of the second CBS S 62515 release. Both
labels again have two lines of circumference text. On the Side 2 label, Mr. Tambourine Man on
Side 2 is again misspelled "MR. TAMBURINE MAN" (it is correct on the first release
CBS S 62515 Side 2 label). Lars M. Banke's copy of CBS 32344 has the same sleeve
and record labels, and the record has the same matrix numbers.

This album is said to be a picture disc edition of the
Discos CBS Brazil release. However, as far as I know, no Dylan picture discs
have ever been released by CBS or Columbia worldwide. These albums were made in
Germany or Italy. For a "Canadian" picture disc release, see above. I
have not found a genuine Discos CBS Brazilian vinyl release of
Bringing It All Back Home.
Thanks to Hans Seegers for information.
